Melati at Tanah Lot - Bali, 2013
Water Colour
53 x 73 cm

SOLD

This series of paintings is a result of a trip to Bali with oil painter Siew Hock Meng after reentering the arts scene at the age of 72. Famous for his sketches in pen and wash, this is a painting technique which uses markers and watercolours to depict scenes with quick and light brushstrokes. Tanah Lot is a rock formation off the island of Bali which is home to the pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot.
Having left the arts scene for a career in advertising, he resumed painting in 2013 at the age of 72.
