Jazz/TCM A piece of Singapore's local culture is captured in this painting by Chin Chun Wah. 'Wayang' is a Malay word, meaning “a theatrical performance employing puppets or human dancers”, typically referring to Chinese Street Opera. In this painting, his signature use of marker lines and watercolour captures the bright costumes worn by these 'Wayang' performers.
Having left the arts scene for a career in advertising, he resumed painting in 2013 at the age of 72.
