In his black and white artworks, Anthony Chua Say Hua, nears to the frames of an informal abstraction that is still in balance with the main concept, which is to narrate a formal subject matter. His decisive brush strokes that humbly fade into the layers of fluidity in order to fade into the absorbing surface of rice paper, keep the eyes and mind of the observer focused on a memory lived by the artist himself and later simplified into an image.
He shares a studio space with fellow Singaporean contemporary artist, Hong Sek Chern, who he is married to.
