Once again showcasing his recurring motif of moving beyond difference, divide and limiting social convention, the artist anthropomorphizes his animal subject in an effort to not only display the cat and fish as friends- rather than expected enemies- but as an allegory to the possibilities of man at harmony with nature and animals as well. The undercurrent commentary is one that examines what truly pits one against the other, ad how easily such lines can be erased if the world was one of love and joy.
