GGG This sculpture by Xiang Jing immediately evokes a sense of sorrow in the viewer. The little girl’s eyes are downcast, and the soft toy that she holds by the arm hangs limply on the floor, perhaps to show the girl’s fragility in her sadness. The faux naif style used for the sculpture’s features further highlights the girl’s youth and the simplicity of her feelings. The girl echoes our sorrow and reluctance in saying goodbye to people or a time in our lives, to the happy times and the loves we leave behind as we move on.
